I have been reading this thread, and a few, including you make lots of sense. I am posting here because those guys at Auran will overacted as usual, plus I know this will be a short conversation between you and me.
One of the problems is that people neglect to read the software license, especially when thy upload. If one uses Auran software to distribute their contents, regardless if it at the download station, they have a right to distribute it simple because you are using their license. Unless they said otherwise, but I do remember reading something along these lines. I could be wrong, however.
Still, I feel that people think that Trainz made Auran, when in fact; Auran has dozens of other games. It’s obvious they know what they are doing.
But those guys at the forum, either think they work for aurans, and others just read from a dictonary what copyriht infringement is. There's so much more to it.
Now, imagine if I type the above at that thread … People will be going bananas over it. I feel that the guy handled it wrongly. He should have waited until they came back from vacation and talk with them. I speculate that they will tell him that since he’s using the cpd, etc trainz software that Auran has the right to distribute without asking permission..
I don’t believe in pay ware, to be honest. I feel this way because people built little things that you and I can do if we put our time into it, but then they think that their item will save the world and change our lives…
The only pay ware item that’s worthy any money is the trandem software … that’s really awesome from what I have read and see!!
